James E. 'Jim' Sapaugh
James E. 'Jim' Sapaugh, 71, entered into rest at a San Antonio hospital on Sunday, Dec. 1, surrounded by his family.
Jim's motto was always to live life as a Happy Journey and leave screaming, "Woohoo, what a ride!"
Jim is survived by his best friend in life, his wife, Joann; daughters, Susan and Eileen and her husband, Danny; sons, James and his wife, Annie, and Rod; 10 grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; and sister Joyce and her husband, Red, as well as by numerous friends and extended family.
The family would like to thank the Methodist Hospital staff, who were involved in Jim's care, and especially Dr. Robert Schnitzler.
A casual memorial service of his cremated remains took place Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Purple Sage Ranch with participants being reminded to "wear your boots."
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any charitable contributions be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of choice.
Condolences may be sent to the family by selecting the "Send Condolences" link at www.grimesfuneralchapels.com.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Bandera.
