Paul John Breaux
Paul John Breaux, 64, passed away Thursday, Oct. 24, after a battle with ALS - Lou Gehrigs Disease. Paul was born on May 12, 1949, in San Antonio to Ervin and Guidora Anne Breaux.
After graduating from Sam Houston High School in 1967, he continued his education at San Antonio College and Texas Lutheran College and obtained his Masters Degree at the University of Oklahoma. In 2009, he graduated from Our Lady of the Lake University with a doctorate in philosophy.
Before his illness, he also taught at OLLU.
Additionally, after joining the United States Air Force in 1968, Paul retired after serving 20 years.
Following his military service, he was employed at Southwest Research Institute and World Savings.
Paul also volunteered with the Pipe Creek Volunteer Fire Department and was a licensed paramedic in Bandera County.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie; daughter Michelle Crittenden and her husband, Jerry; son Michael John Breaux and his wife, Fleriza; and grandchildren, Benjamin Michael and Elizabeth Belle Crittenden and Alyssa Noelle Liang and Audrey Renee Breaux.
Paul's family were his pride and joy and always cheered him up during his illness.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, father and two sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 8:30 am, Friday, Nov. 1, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera with a graveside service to follow at 11:15 am, with full military honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
Paul's family would like to thank the ALS Association, as well as the UTHSC ALS Clinic, for their support during his illness.
