Betty Jo Kimbrell


Loving wife, mother and grandmother Betty Jo Kimbrell, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ during the early morning hours of Friday, Oct. 18.

Betty was born in Atascosa County on Oct. 11, 1938, to Lambert H. Frayar Sr. and Emma E. Fryar.

While growing up in San Antonio, she met and married her Number One supporter and best friend of 57 years, James W. Kimbrell Sr. Betty became Mrs. Kimbrell on March 26, 1956.

She was a media member of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Betty was a wonderful gift who was with us on earth for many years and who will remain forever in our hearts. An inspiring and supportive wife and mother, she was also a magnificent "Maw" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by everyone and will be dearly missed.

Betty is survived by her husband, James W. Kimbrell Sr., of Bandera; son James W. Kimbrell Jr. and his wife, Chery, of Bandera; daughter Kathryn E. Thaler and her husband, Daniel Thaler Sr., of Bandera; sisters, Lola Bradshaw of Boerne; Mary Alice Crittell of San Antonio; and Joanne Beckly of Indiana; brothers, Lambert H. "Sonny" Fryar of San Antonio and Milton W. Fryar of Bandera; grandchildren, Danny Thaler Jr. of Boerne, Nathan Thaler of Bandera, Misty Kimbrell of Austin and Savanah Thaler of Lubbock; and great-grandchildren, Landon Popham, Conner Popham, Case Thaler and Cayleigh Thaler.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, brother Eddie Fryar and sister Lilly Ruiz.

Visitation will be held from 6 pm to 9 pm, Friday, Oct. 25, at Vaughns Funeral Home in Boerne. Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, Oct. 26, at Vaughns.
