Emogene Pawvlik Ivey
After a lengthy stay at a healthcare facility in Bandera, Emogene Pawvlik Ivey left to be with our Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 1. She was born in Bandera County on Dec. 9, 1928, to William Edward Welch and Minnie Minerva Hodges Welch.
Emogene grew up in the Pipe Creek and Bandera communities. She married Raymond Valentine Pawvlik on June 3, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 2, 1991.
On March 5,1994, she married Neil Ivey. Grandpa Neil - as the family affectionately called him - who passed away in 2006. Mrs. Ivey continued to reside in Lakehills until a fall and broken hip placed her at Bandera Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in December 2011.
She is survived by three children, Linda Green; Raymond W. Pawvlik and his wife, Kim; and Kenneth R. Pawvlik; six grandchildren, Jimmy Porterfield, DJ Green, David Pawvlik, Raymond W. Pawvlik Jr., Sheena Ramsay and Bryan Harden; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will take place at 10 am, Friday, Oct. 11, at Grimes Funeral Chapel with Mr. Martin Smith officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the local Gideon Society or at www.gideons.org.
The family would like to thank all the office staff, nurses and aides of the Bandera Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for their loving care of our mother. She was also given excellent care at this facility under the direction of Dr. Saleh Jaafar and staff. We also are very thankful for the services and care provided by the River City Hospice.
To all who did care and visit her while she was at Bandera Rehab, we send a very heartfelt thank you.
