Edna Mae Brown
Edna Mae Brown, 95, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Oct. 6. She was born March 21, 1918, to Roy and Ida Bell Luttrell Murray, who preceded her in death.
During their time together, Edna and her husband, Jeff, traveled 49 out of 50 states. She was a Life Member of Women's Auxiliary VFW Post 157. Edna also worked for numerous years at Country Shopper Grocery and Meat Market.
She is survived by her son, James M. McCarter; sister Mabel Jane Welch; and sister-in-law Lucille Murray, as well as by seven grandchildren, Randy McCarter (Paulette), Sharon Castro (Oscar), Gwenda Tschirhart (Les), Sandy Mayfield (Jerry), Jeff McCarter, Ronald McCarter, Beauford McCarter, Jr., 22 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edna was predeceased by her husband, Jeff B. Brown; son Beauford Murray McCarter; brother Remson E. Murray; daughter-in-law Wanda Faye McCarter; and grandson Mark A. McCarter.
Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 8 pm, Thursday, Oct. 10, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive, in San Antonio. Telephone is 210-349-1414. Funeral services will be held at 9 am, Friday, Oct. 11, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North with interment to follow at Bandera Cemetery.
