Leila Agnes Kindla
Leila Agnes Kindla, 76, of Bandera, passed away Monday, August 26, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born on Jan. 25, 1937 in Louisville, Kentucky.
On Nov. 21, 1959, she married Al Kindla at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bandera.
In 1959, Lee received her bachelor of education from Southwest Texas State College. In 1987, she earned her master of education from Our Lady of The Lake University in San Antonio.
Before retiring from Bandera Independent School District in 1995, Lee served as a teacher and a librarian for 35 years. A dedicated and involved member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, she also enjoyed playing golf and painting. However, when her grandchildren arrived, they became her life! She was also an avid scrapbooker and kept her camera with her at all times.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Al Kindla; daughters, Suzanne Kindla Tonne and her husband, Jeffrey; Kelly Kindla Stine and her husband, Dave, all of New Braunfels; and Patti Kindla McClaugherty and her husband, Scott, of Bandera; sons, Keith Kindla of Maui, Hawaii; and Bryce Kindla and his wife, Casey, of Frisco; sister Patricia Vicknair of Louisiana; and grandchildren, Caroline and Abigail McClaugherty, Clancey Tonne, Carter and Ashley Kindla and Alyssa and Audrey Stine, as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Lee was predeceased by her father and mother, Charles Hockenjos and Julia Ciasto Hockenjos.
A rosary took place Wednesday, August 28, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera. Funeral services were held Thursday, August 29, at St.
Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bandera with burial following in the church cemetery.
