Barbara R. Rogers
Barbara R. Rogers, 75, of Pipe Creek, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, in San Antonio. She was born in Home City, Kansas, on March 8, 1938, to Joseph Louis Holtz and Mildred Mabel Kuhn Holtz.
She married Emil L. Rogers on June 15, 1958 in Washington, Kansas.
She received her Bachelors in Nursing from Incarnate Word University and was a registered nurse at Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio.
She also worked at Kerrville State Hospital before retiring in 2000.
Having been a pastor's wife for eight years, Barbara was very active in the Pipe Creek Community Church. Along with her husband, she also ministered to several different tribes of American Indians in Oklahoma.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, LeRoy Rogers of Pipe Creek; son Steven Marcus Rogers of Pipe Creek; and grandchildren Timothy, Jonathan, Matthew, Ashly and Stephanie.
She was predeceased by her son, David Louis Rogers; brother Joseph Harold Holtz; and parents.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 14, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera with Pastor David Busby officiating. Burial followed at Pipe Creek Cemetery.
