Loretta Joyce Harris James


Loretta Joyce Harris James, 63, went to be with our Lord Thursday, Feb. 28. She was born June 24, 1949 in Charco to Dillard Harris Jr. and Mary Harris.
For over 29 years, she served as executive assistant to the dean of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Nursing.
Loretta was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was blessed with the gift of giving and gave freely of herself without hesitation. A loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Loretta will be greatly missed by many. She touched the lives of every person she met.
Loretta is survived by her daughter, Veronica Denise Keller and her husband, David; sisters, Barbara O'Brien; Mary Iguchi and her husband, Victor; and Monica Harris; brothers, Bandera County Precinct 2 Commissioner Bobby Harris and his wife, Patty; and Michael Harris; grandchildren, Hunter Asbury and Abigail Keller; great-nieces, VictoriaLynn Newsome and MaryFrancis Newsome; and sister-in-law, Tressa Harris, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
Loretta was predeceased by her parents, sister Patricia Reed and brother Alvin Harris.
Memorial services will be held at 9 am, Saturday, March 9, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North with Pastor David Mayer officiating.
