Doris Rebecca Bowman Stuehm


Doris Rebecca Bowman Stuehm died Monday, Jan. 21, at her childhood home in Pipe Creek after a year of declining health and hospice care. She was born March 9, 1925 in Pipe Creek.
In 1946, Doris married Raymond Charles "Chuck" Stuehm of Cleveland, Ohio. The couple was married until Chuck's death in 1980.
After graduating from Baylor University in 1946, Doris was a school teacher for 30 years - most of them teaching art at Leal Middle School in San Antonio. In addition to loving art, literature and watching television, she enjoyed gardening and picnics near and far.
Doris is survived by her son, David Lewis, of Pipe Creek; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister and brother; and many nieces and nephews.
Doris was also predeceased by her oldest son, Paul Raymond, of Buckeye, Arizona, who died in 2006.
