Denise Lynn Tomlinson Kutzer


Denise Lynn Tomlinson Kutzer, 56, of Castroville, passed away Friday, March 29, in San Antonio. She was born May 12, 1956 in Lockhart to Samuel and Delores Tomlinson.

Denise graduated from Bandera High School in 1975. While attending BHS, she was a member of the drill team and 4-H Club.

She married Jean Kutzer on Dec. 18, 1976 at Lakehills Baptist Church. She and her family later lived in Wasilla, Alaska for 15 years.
Denise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

Survivors include her husband, Jean Kutzer Jr. of Castroville; children and spouses, Melissa Henn of Castroville, Jean R. Kutzer III and Alicia; Vanessa Garnica and Mark of Cedar City, Utah; Leah Lockwood and Kevin of Castroville; Cynthia Shoemaker and Sean; and Senior Airman Samuel Kutzer and Brittany; and father Samuel J. Tomlinson Sr. of San Antonio.

Denise is also survived by her grandchildren, Garrett Henn, Calee Henn, Colbey Garnica, Darin Garnica, Justin Garnica, Janelle Garnica, Kyra Kutzer, Skylyn Kutzer, Logan Kutzer, Amber Jones, Merida (Bubba) Jones, Kevin Lockwood, Kyle Lockwood, Hailey Lockwood, Alyssa Shoemaker, Aidyn Shoemaker, Lauren Shoemaker, Avery Shoemaker, Rein Kearley-Kutzer, Tristyn Kutzer, Allison Kutzer; and siblings, Mary Ellen Green and Jeffrey of Port Arthur, Samuel J. Tomlinson Jr. and Ann of Castroville and Amanda Ann Lara and Gilbert of San Antonio, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Denise was predeceased by her mother, Delores Kasting Tomlinson.
The Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home in Castroville will be open for visitation from 6 pm to 9 pm, Thursday, April 4. A funeral service will be held at 10 am, Friday, April 5, also at the Tondre-Guinn Funeral Home with interment following at the Castroville Community Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in the memory of Denise L. Kutzer at any Broadway Bank.
