Juan Fernandez

1944-2012

Juan Fernandez, 68, of Bandera, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, at home. He was born in Hondo to Marcos and Victoria Miranda Fernandez on August 19, 1944.
Juan married Antonia Palomo on April 15, 1967 in Bandera.
A member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, he was also a past Worshipful Master of Rising Star Lodge 429 and a member of the Bandera Masonic Lodge 1123.
Juan retired from the Texas Department of Transportation in Bandera County.
He is survived by his wife, Antonia Fernandez; daughters, Angelita Guajardo and her husband, Eddy, of Bandera, and Amanda Fernandez of San Antonio; sons, John Fernandez and his wife, Lisa, of Del Rio, and Chris Fernandez of Austin; sisters, Nicholasa Martinez and Ricarda Rodriguez, both of Bandera, and Clara Theis of Omaha, Nebraska; brothers, Pedro Fernandez and Antonio Fernandez, both of Bandera; and grandchildren, Kayla Fernandez and Ryan Fernandez of Del Rio.
A rosary was held Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera. A funeral service took place Wednesday, Oct. 31, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with burial following at the New Catholic Cemetery.
