Jennie Lu Tar Kight

Jennie Lu Tar Kight entered into rest on June 10. She was born in Helena, Oklahoma on March 9, 1925.

During the late 1940s and early 1950s, Jennie Lu taught at Bandera Elementary School. She endeared herself to many of her Bandera students, and several of them who still reside here remember her with affection.

While living in Bandera, Jennie Lu was an active member of the Bandera Church of Christ, and later became a devout member of College Hill Church of Christ in Mulvane, Kansas.

While teaching in Bandera, Jennie Lu met and married WF "Bill" Kight. The couple made their home here for several years before moving to Dell City in West Texas. Later the couple relocated to Mulvane for Bill's work, but Jennie resumed her teaching career in Mulvane until her retirement.

When Bill passed away in 2004, Jennie remained in Mulvane until this year when she moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas to live near her daughter.

Survivors include the couple's three children, Dorcas Ann "Dee" of Eureka Springs, Jenise of The Woodlands and Ellis of Lubbock, as well as by their spouses and families.

Funeral services were held on June 16, at College Hill Church of Christ in Mulvane. Interment followed in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, the Garden of the Apostles at Mulvane.
