Karl Moore

1932-2012

Karl Moore passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, after living what he described as "a blessed life." He was born in Raymondville on April 29, 1932, but lived most of his life in San Antonio.

Karl received numerous commendations during his civil service career as a medical photographer at Brooks Air Force Base and Fort Sam Houston.

An accomplished steel guitar player, he and his wife, Bettye Jeane, played music together at venues all over the country. The couple owned BJ's Southside Music for over 30 years.

They have also been members of Bellaire Baptist Church for over 50 years.

Karl is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bettye Jeane; son Jim Moore and his wife, Helen, of San Antonio; Steven Moore and his wife, Betty, of Sugar Land; Sue Ann Green and her husband, Glen, of Seguin; daughter-in-law Clarene Moore; eight grandchildren and their spouses; and four great-grandchildren, as well as by many nieces and nephews.

Karl was predeceased by his eldest son, Wesley Moore.

A funeral service will be held at Grimes Funeral Home in Bandera at noon, Thursday, Sept. 27, followed by a graveside service at the Jones Cemetery on the Stevens Ranch in Bandera County.
