Oscar Frank Schmidt Jr.

1926-2012

Oscar Frank Schmidt Jr., 85, of Kerrville, passed away Saturday, August 11, in a Kerrville care center. He was born Sept. 1, 1926 in Eagle Pass to Oscar Frank Schmidt Sr. and Sarah M. Hollar Schmidt.

A retired federal meat inspector, Mr. Schmidt also served
in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Bandera United Methodist Church.

Mr. Schmidt married Bettie Jo Manning on July 16, 1948 in Hondo.

She survives along with daughter, Pat Natus and her husband, Bud, of Kerrville; sons, Russell L. Schmidt and his wife, Susan, of Coupland, and Arthur Schmidt and his wife, Rolinda, of Kerrville; sister Edythe Bowdy of Ingram; eight grandchildren, Joe, Ben, Stephanie, Russell, Jr., Amelia, Shaun, Hunter and Shanna; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Schmidt were held Monday, August 13, at Grimes Funeral Chapels with Pastor Ken Dahlberg officiating. Interment followed in Bandera Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Mr. Schmidt's grandchildren, Russell Schmidt, Jr., Stephanie Kennedy, Joe Natus, Ben Natus, Shaun Randall, Amelia Caraker and Hunter Schmidt.
