1936-2012

Patricia Ann Hinds LeStourgeon, 75, of Comfort, passed away on Sunday, August 12, in Kerrville. She was born in Medina to Clifford and Thelma Hinds on Sept. 7, 1936.
After graduating from high school in Medina in 1955, Pat married Bruce Haynes LeStourgeon on June 12, 1956 in Medina.
She raised three children and was a loyal wife, mother and friend. While self-employed at Paca Productions and Infinity, Pat created ceramic lighting and cremation urns. For a number of years, she served as activities coordinator at the Independence Hill Retirement Center.
She was also employed at USAA for a short time.
During her years of service to others through volunteering, Pat used her gifts of painting and quilting to bless those around her. In her latter years, quilting became her signature way of giving to those she loved. Ever the artist, Pat also created pieces using watercolors, oils, acrylics, and pen and ink.
On Sundays she could be found with her church family enjoying the worship and learning more about the Lord.
Pat's knack for making friends and her gift of hospitality were only some of the traits for which she will be missed. She never met a stranger. Her love of family and her artistic eye became her strongest passions.
Pat also enjoyed potting plants, sewing, playing board games, drinking coffee and socializing. Her sense of humor was one of her best attributes. And everyone will recall Pat's love of traveling, fishing and a good hamburger - for, most of all, she enjoyed the simple things.
Pat's life and legacy can be summed up by two powerful truths - she loved God and she loved people. Pat truly painted her world with love.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce LeStourgeon, of Comfort; daughter Pamela Syfert and her husband, Guy, of Kerrville; sons, Douglas LeStourgeon and his wife, Sherry, of Flour Bluff, and Scott LeStourgeon of Harper; grandchildren, Dereck Syfert and his wife, Kylie, of Kerrville; Shay Ray and her husband, Dustin, of Boerne; Morgan Key and her husband, Cody, of Kerrville; Sasha Montemayor and her husband, Joseph, of Killeen; Bryan LeStourgeon; Jessica LeStourgeon; Gabby LeStourgeon; and Rafe LeStourgeon, along with numerous great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Thursday, August 16, at Grimes Funeral Chapels in Bandera, with Pastor Del Way officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina.
