Sarah Faye Nichols Prior

1922-2012

Sarah Faye Nichols Prior, 90, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 24, at St. Catherine's Center in Waco. She was born Feb. 20, 1922 in Medina to Stanley Allen Keese and Hester Knatcher Keese.

Before moving to Austin in 1952, Sarah Faye and her husband spent the early years of their marriage in Bandera.

She worked for Texas Education Agency and the Ray Goodson Company. After retiring, Sarah Faye actively supported the Round Rock Church of Christ and Meals on Wheels and hospice programs, as well as other acts of service. She loved her family, cooking, baking and beautiful plants and flowers.

Sarah Faye is survived by her daughter, Carolyn McEachern; son, JD Prior and his wife, Linda; grandchildren, Tricia Hall and her husband, Jeff; Mandy Wood and her husband, Ryan; Matthew McCarty; Robert McEachern; John McEachern; and Greg McEachern and his wife, Lindsey; and 12 great-grandchildren, as well as by her sister, Hortense Norton, and sister-in-law Ruth Keese.

She was preceded in death by her son, Vaughn Allen; her husband of 34 years, Merle Prior; and her husband, Don Nichols; as well as by brothers, Roy, Oren, Thomas, Lewis, Allen and Gene; and sisters, Mary Hillman and Vivian Keese.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 28, at Grimes Funeral Chapels with Mr. Martin Smith officiating.

Pallbearers included Robert McEachern, John McEachern, Greg McEachern, Matthew McCarty and Leroy Keese. Honorary Pallbearers were Jeff Hall, John Hillman, OW Hillman, Earl Keese, RL Keese, and Wayne Keese.
