Marie Moore, 81, of Bandera, passed away on Monday, June 4, at a Bandera care center. She was born on May 25, 1931, in Plainview to Harvey and Lockie Myrtle Crawford Farris.
On Dec. 24, 1949, she married Willis F. "Paco" Moore in Fort Worth.
Marie served twice as Past Worthy Matron of the Bandera Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #643 - from 1977-1978 and 2003-2004. She also served as the Mother Advisor for the Order of the Rainbow Girls.
Marie was active in several other organizations, including PTA, Cub Scouts and Campfire Girls.
Additionally, she served on the board of directors for the Bandera County Public Library, and was a past board member of the Bandera County Chamber of Commerce.
Marie was a licensed HAM radio operator with the call letters K5FUL.
A very talented silversmith, she made jewelry that included chains and rings.
Marie is survived by her husband Willis F. "Paco" Moore of Bandera; daughters, Frances Lemons and her husband, Harold, of Llano; Sylvanne Brooks of Elmendorf; and Debbie Allbritton and her husband, Roy, of Bandera; son Alan "Chico" Moore and his wife, Cindy, of La Feria; sister Alta Cole and her husband, Charles, of Katy; brother Harold Farris and his wife, Jean, of Lubbock; grandchildren, Katy Lundy and her husband, Sid, of Liberty Hill; Larry Alan Brooks of Elmendorf; Andrew Brooks of Elmendorf and his fiancé, Leanne Moczygemba, of Elmendorf; Cody Moore and his wife, Roxanna, of La Feria; and Dustin Moore and his wife, Ana, also of La Feria; and great-grandchildren, Brady and Bailey Lundy and Finn Moore, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie was predeceased by her parents; sister Juanita Schock; brothers, Hubert Farris, Ronald Farris and Gene Morgan; grandson Eric Stein; and son-in-law, Larry Gene Brooks.
A memorial service was held Friday, June 8, at Grimes Funeral Chapel in Bandera with Brother Larry Taylor officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Marie Moore's name to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, 2222 Welborn Street, Dallas 75219, or the Hill Country Rainbow Assembly #381.
