Darla Elaine Schoen Guest Meurer

Darla Elaine Schoen Guest Meurer, 55, of Bandera, went to sing and dance with the Lord on Friday, June 8, after a long and courageous fight with cancer. She was born October 12, 1956, in Austin, Texas to Bert and Irene Schoen. Darla has four brothers and two sisters.

Darla was a wonderful mother and grandmother, always laughing and joking around.

She is survived in death by her ex-husband, Vincent Meurer; and children, Justin Schoen of Puyallup, Washington; Abigail Guest of Kerrville; Thelma Meurer of Fredericksburg; Albert and Jennifer Guest of San Antonio; Samantha and Manny Navarro of San Antonio; and Joshua Meurer of Bandera, as well as by grandchildren, Cierra Schoen, Stacey, Bailey and Kenzey Lanier, Ashliegh Cornell and Lillian Guest, Dakota Blackstock and Lestat Navarro.

Darla is also survived by several nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude for all of the prayers made on our mother's behalf. A special thank you is extended to her ex-husband, Vincent Meurer, for helping our mother during her last days.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
