Margaret Owens

1916-2012

Margaret Owens, 95, passed away on Thursday, April 5, at a Bandera care center.

She was born June 8, 1916, in Dallas, the eighth of nine children born to James and Eddie Morgan.

Margaret grew up in San Antonio. On Dec. 31, 1937, she married Arthur Roy Owens in San Antonio. The couple moved to Sabinal where they were engaged in farming and ranching.

Margaret is survived by daughter Marilyn Owens of Sabinal, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, parents, five sisters and three brothers.

Services were held at Sabinal Central Christian Church, Monday, April 9, followed by burial at the Sabinal Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Bob Reagan, Kenneth Spence, Bob Saunders, Arthur Gene "Tootie" Ilse, George Driskill and Pete Denney.

Honorary pallbearers were CR McFarland, Hubert Felts, WC Reagan, Robert Driskill, Bob Nunley, Richard Nunley, Tommy Oliphant, Robert Spence, Greg Bales, Bill Soyars Jr., Sammy Horton, Victor John Niemeyer and Joe Hargrove, as well as members of the ranch and farm families in the Uvalde area.
