Nowotny throws hat in District 73 ring
Contributed
Robert A. Nowotny has announced his candidacy for the office of Texas State Representative for District 73. This district comprises Bandera, Comal, Gillespie and Kendall counties.
The Nowotny family has lived in and served the Texas Hill country for over five generations. Born and raised in New Braunfels, Nowotny graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1966. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree, both with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin.
An extremely successful independent motion picture and television producer, his feature film projects have won numerous awards worldwide, including “Best American Film of the Decade” and “Best Religious Film of the Year.” His television productions have earned an Emmy and the Barbara Jordan Award for his efforts on behalf of the disabled.
Like many Texans, Nowotny is discouraged with the majority of elected officials who represent special interest groups and lobbyists over the wishes of their constituents.
As a Libertarian, he is a strong advocate of term limits, the Second Amendment and a complete overhaul of the existing convoluted and overly complex system of taxation. In addition, he strongly opposes tolling existing, publicly funded roads as well as construction of the Trans-Texas Corridor.
