Library book sale good place to shop for all your reading Valentines

By Mary Conley Friends of the Library

February may be the "dead" of winter but the Friends of the Library are hard at work preparing events to enliven your month.

Last month's First Saturday Book Sale was a big success, with shoppers enjoying our expanded shelving and newly organized book carts. If you have a special interest, we can help you find it.

February's special foci are craft magazines, craft patterns and gardening. We hope you'll stop in to buy a book or magazine, but do come in to browse or just say hello in our cozy, friendly library.

The sale is set for Saturday, Feb. 4, from 9 am to 1 pm. As always, we welcome donations of books in fairly good condition and will be happy to pick them up.

Later in February we will hold two bingos at the American Legion Post in Bandera, a non-smoking bingo on Sunday, Feb. 19 and a regular bingo on Wednesday, Feb. 29. A white elephant sale is an added feature this year.

More details on these fun events will follow in our next article.

In the meantime, we'll see you at the First Saturday Book Sale Saturday, Feb. 4 from 9 am to 1 pm.
