Conference for Eagle Ford impact


The Middle Rio Grande Development Foundation and the Eagle Ford Consortium will host a conference dealing with the effects of the Eagle Ford Shale oil play in south Texas in March. The conference theme is "Creating a Sustainable Pathway.
The conference will be held at the Omni Hotel, 9821 Colonnade Boulevard March 1 and 2. A pre-conference session on housing challenges will be held Wednesday, Feb. 29.
Topics and workshops for the conference will include:
•Workforce and Economic Development Opportunities
•Strategies to Address Infrastructure Challenges - Housing and Roads
•Education Related to Oil and Gas Industry and Technologies
•Strategies to Create a Sustainable Future for Communities
•Information and Best Practice Sharing
The Eagle Ford Consortium invites individuals, groups and governmental entities "to share in the collaboration to develop strategies that maximize the benefits of the Eagle Ford Shale Development, as well as develop actionable plans that meet the challenges head-on - with the ultimate goal of improving our communities for the long term."
