Plan now to attend TX Groundwater Summit

The Texas Groundwater Summit, sponsored by the Texas Alliance of Groundwater Districts (TAGD), will take place August 28 through August 30 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Austin.

The summit, which will provide an in-depth look at Texas groundwater, will feature expert speakers and panels and exhibitors, as well as an opportunity for participants to network with groundwater industry leaders.

The program will include updates on such hot-button issues as the continuing drought; groundwater legislation, policies and management; hydraulic fracturing; joint and regional planning; and emerging groundwater technology and programs.

The three-day event is geared toward groundwater conservation district staff and board members; legislative, agency and university leaders and staff; municipalities, counties, water providers and members of RWFGs; oil and gas industry professionals; groundwater technology experts and leaders; and organizations and individuals interested in the future of groundwater in Texas.

On Tuesday, August 28, the TAGD will hold its fourth quarter business meeting. There will also be a groundwater basics course, "The ABCs of GCDs," as well as an opening reception for exhibitors. Speaker sessions will take place on Wednesday, August 29, and Thursday, August 30.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel Austin is located at 6121 North Interstate Highway 35. Telephone is 512-323-5466. Those participating in the Texas Groundwater Summit will be eligible for a block of rooms at a special rate of $108. Participates are urged to reserve their rooms as soon as possible.
