Longtime Bandera entrepreneur, Billy Clyde Wright, has joined the Bandera County Courier team.

Gail Joiner, Courier owner and publisher, made the announcement this week. "Billy Clyde is known for his loyalty and dedication to his work," said Joiner. "We're happy he made the decision to sell the Courier." Wright has been selling newspapers to his loyal customers, come rain, shine, sleet or heat, every week for about 20 years. He started his route in the early 1990s, after being hired by Editor Nick Johnson at the Bandera Bulletin. During his career as Bandera's iconic peddler of newsprint, Wright also sold the Bandera Review.

In all of those years, Wright figures he has missed maybe five or six days of selling the local papers due to the fact that he was hospitalized a couple of times.

Billy Clyde is a descendant of one of Bandera County's pioneer families and is related to about half the town.

Welcome aboard, Billy Clyde!
