Food fair slated for Saturday

Announcement

In partnership with Faith Tabernacle, 7789 FM 1283 in Lakehills, the San Antonio Food Bank will sponsor a Bandera County Food Fair from 10 am until noon on Saturday, Jan. 14.

A food fair is a San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB) program that provides large quantities of perishable and non-perishable food items, among other items, to qualified individuals and families.

Food Fairs are held with the support of partner agencies of the SAFB throughout 16 counties in Southwest Texas.

The San Antonio Food Bank offers this opportunity for the Faith Tabernacle Food Pantry to provide nutritional products and education to families and individuals in need.

Agency staff qualifies individuals based on a verbal declaration of their income by using a voucher provided by the SAFB and Federal Income Guidelines. Vouchers will be provided to residents of Bandera County. The agencies assist with the distribution of products to the individuals and families.

Food Fairs also connect individuals to other SAFB programs including Client Services (Federal Benefit Assistance) and Nutrition, Health and Wellness Education.
