Littlegrass Ranch to hold informational meeting

Members of the public interested in learning more about Littlegrass Ranch - a proposed transitional housing shelter for victims of domestic violence, their children and their pets - are invited to the first open informational meeting set for 7 pm to 8:30 pm, Tuesday, March 22, at the Auld Center, 1121 Second Street, in Kerrville.
“No shelter facility like this exists anywhere,” said Executive Director Christie Kitchens. “Our research shows there are thousands of women horse owners in Texas alone who are at risk. There are even more women with other pets, as well as children with pets and 4-H animals.”
Kitchens and board members will show an artist’s concept of the proposed facility and outline of the nonprofit organization’s plans for moving forward. The board and staff are actively seeking volunteers, funding opportunities and partners, as well as ranch property. There is no charge and no obligation to attend this informational meeting.
Littlegrass Ranch is a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Plans call for 100 acres for pasture and facilities; secure gates and fencing; headquarters buildings for administration, counseling, meeting and dining; barns with stalls and storage; and separate family-style cabin housing.
