Basinger announces for re-election

In November 1994, Bobbie Jo Basinger was elected as Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace and took office in January of 1995. She has announced for re-election.

Since taking office I have initiated - with the cooperation of other justice courts - consistent, efficient policies and procedures for paperwork, reporting and cross training of clerks to ensure continuity of information. The only difference in the basic operation of the court is the judges’ discretion. Cooperation and teamwork within all aspects of county government are essential parts of an official’s duties.

I am a member of the Texas Justice of the Peace and Constable Association, Texas Justice Court Judges Association, American Judges Association, National Judges Association and have served on the Texas Association of Counties Unemployment Board.

Since 2006, I have been honored to be a part of the College of Justice Court Judges. I am also a member of the Bandera County Republican Women and other civic and fraternal organizations.

Caseloads for courts continue to rise, requiring a full time commitment from our elected officials. I am committed to this office, and to the people who have elected me, to provide this responsibility.

One of our duties as a society is justice: “Due process of law states that all citizens be treated equally and fairly.” Judges must be impartial, have common sense, be decisive and know how to apply the law.

I am fair, professional, consistent, and have the experience, knowledge and leadership ability to maintain the integrity of this office.

With your help, I will continue to do so.
