6th Annual Thanksgiving Meal

The Quesada family will once again provide a free meal on Thanksgiving Day at the Lakehills Civic Center.
The family tradition started years ago with Antonio Quesada's mother. "When we were kids, she would give us plates to take around the neighborhood for the elderly," Antonio Quesada said.
Today, Quesada's wife uses his mother's favorite recipes for the turkey and dressing, pea salad, yams and more to serve the Medina Lake community.
The Medina Lake Betterment Association (MLBA) donates the Civic Center for the project, and all the food is freshly prepared in its commercial kitchen. Local churches, restaurants and the MLBA are generous supporters of the effort.
The free meal is available to anyone who wants to come. Serving will begin at noon and continues until 5 p.m.
The family welcomes volunteers to help cook, serve and clean up. Call Quesada at 210-883-4869 to sign up. Meals on Wheels will deliver plates of the dinner to anyone who is homebound.
“These hard-working folks are ready for plenty of people to show up,” Quesada said. "My dad always said it's better to have leftovers than to run out of food."
