Contributed

Schreiner University’s Community Volunteer Program will host a Volunteer Fair from 4–6 pm Wednesday, Aug. 2, in the Summerlin Music Education Hall for area residents interested in learning more about on-campus volunteer opportunities.
Among the areas in which volunteers provide service at Schreiner are classroom lecturers, campus office assistants, workers in the campus bookstore, musicians working with students on voice or instrumental practice, theater program assistants, and tutors to work with students in all academic disciplines.
Guests at the Volunteer Fair will be entertained by Schreiner’s answer to Jimmy Buffett, Dr. Gary Biel, professor of psychology. There will also be door prizes and a tour of the new Music Education facility.
The Schreiner Community Volunteer Program creates opportunities to engage area residents, alumni, friends, faculty and staff in meaningful volunteer activities that empower, activate and enrich students' lives.
Those planning to attend should RSVP to Peg Layton, Community Volunteer Program coordinator, at playton@schreiner.edu or phone 830-792-7298.
