Celebrate National Day of the American Cowboy

Saturday July 22
Bandera County Court House Lawn 9am – 6pm

Bandera, Texas, the Cowboy Capital of the world, is the place to be Saturday July 22, 2017! Join the City of Bandera as we celebrate the National Day of the American Cowboy.
Friday night events begin with a rodeo at Twin Elm Guest Ranch.
Start the National Day of the Cowboy with a cowboy biscuit and gravy breakfast at 9 am on the courthouse lawn at 500 Main Street. Steve Mitchell, well known for his fiddle and singing shows in Branson, Missouri, will provide the music.
The infamous Bandera Cattle Company will provide a good ole fashioned gun fight at Rattle Snake Ridge, a small town set near the back of the court house lawn.
At 10 am, there will be a dedication ceremony of the new Remington reproduction of Bronco Buster at Heritage Park.
At 10:30 am, back at Rattle Snake Ridge, enjoy a special performance by Mikki Daniel, winner of the Academy of Western Artists 2017 Will Rodgers Western Music Award, and the 2016 Female Performer of the Year!
At noon, the Frontier Times Museum will induct three Texans into the Heroes Hall of Honor.
What else can
you expect?
A Little Wranglers Rodeo hosted by the Ridin the River Cowboy Church; poker games, horse shoe pitch, chicken ropin’, cowboy dress up, stick horse races, a boot scramble, the Bandera Picker’s Circle, buggies, domino games, chuck wagons and toe tappin fiddle playing and cowboy poetry by Martin and Murray.
On Saturday evening, mosey on down to Mansfield Park Rodeo Arena for the Ridin the River Cowboy Church Ranch Rodeo. Admission is $10 for adults and just $5 for kids. Gates open at 6 pm and the rodeo starts at 7:30 pm.
Bandera was named one of the top places to be on the National Day of the American Cowboy by True West Magazine. Don’t miss this event!
