Most everyone will find some time to float on the crystal clear Medina River during Riverfest but you can bet the next favorite thing is the music!
Our morning starts off with some exciting entertainment, sponsored by TJ’s at the Old Forge, Bandera Idol Competition in the semi-finals event. The semifinals will feature the finalist in the youth, teen and adult division. Cheer on your favorite singer! Bandera has some Voices!
Entertainment on the Main Stage will not disappoint music lover either. First up at 11:30 am is the Groove Factory Band. This group is a collaboration of talented musicians from San Antonio, Texas. All band members are accomplished musicians individually and together they perform with high energy, showmanship, and their own blend of soul, R&B, jazz, funk, pop, blues, and soul. The Groove Factory Band is constantly in demand in the area and has performed at San Antonio at area notable venues.
Individual and Collective credits include everything from starring roles in a local production of “You Should Have Told Me” theater play, to recurring performances as a standing member (guitarist) of the New Creation Choir Family, to performances with the late Bo Didley, and Dorothy Moore, etc., and the featured vocalist for the US Army. GFB has performed over one-hundred paid performances in the San Antonio area and counting!
The Groove Factory Band consists of a core of talented musicians that currently include Rob Noble, Bassist and Band Leader, Nakita Fox and/or Angie Frazier, lead and background vocals, Henry “Doc” Morris, Lead and Rhythm guitar, Raymond Underwood, keyboards, and Jeff Rodgers, “Mr. Smooth,” drums and background vocals
Next up is local performer Paul Hilliard, well known as a powerful performer...or we might say "event!"  With his amazing original songs and dynamic delivery of them he transcends what you might think of as the standard stage to audience relationship.  And he certainly moves far, far beyond being background or Happy Hour wallpaper!  When he launches out on his journeys of exploration with voice and instrument, he really takes you places you want to go...and he doesn't charge an extra luggage fee!" Joining Paul will be a top notch fiddle and mandolin player, Bryon Zip. Too much Talent!
Rocking the stage next will be a local group Professor Julius and His Remedies. What can you say about a rockin’ good time? Popular around the Hill Country for many years, this band goes beyond music by playing an eclectic mix of music that will rock your world of forgotten favorites. Fronted by Professor Julius, and musical cohorts Nick Carlos, and Leo Long, this band offers so much fun you’ll wanna come back for more every time!
At five o’clock, it’s the finals of the TJ’s At the Old Forge Bandera Idol competition. Competition has been heavy! Cheer on the finalist!
