Early detection and speedy response


Pipe Creek and Lake Hills Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a house fire in the 600 block of Redbud Lane, Pipe Creek, at 2:16 am, Monday, June 5, according to Bandera County Fire Marshall John Stith.
The fire started in the attic and moved downwards into the bedroom where the adults were sleeping and they quickly took the three children outside. No one in the family was injured, thanks to early detection of the fire and the speedy response of firefighters.
The fire was under control at 3:13 am and fire department units returned at 4:30 am. The Red Cross was notified and offered the family assistance.
The results of the investigation for the cause of the fire are inconclusive at the time of this printing. Preliminary causes of the fire are most likely electrical, or possibly from a lighting bolt. The family is staying with relatives due to extensive damage to the interior of the home.
