Shoppers looking for unique items, bargains, spring spruce-ups and Mother’s Day gifts will be flocking to the next Kerr County Market Days and Hill Country Swap Meet on Saturday, May 6 from 8:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Held at the Hill Country Youth Event Center in Kerrville, admission is free and there’s plenty of free parking.
LuAnn Anderson, event manager, recommends attendees come early for the best selection. “We anticipate a flood of shoppers who will be in search of Mother’s Day gifts, and our vendors won’t disappoint. There will be many beautiful handcrafted items including personalized jewelry made on site, handbags, cosmetics and home décor items in our Market Days section, and over 150 booths in the entire event. We’re always pleased to see and welcome people from around the Hill Country who plan their day just to come out and shop.”
Hill Country Master Gardeners will also be on hand with plants perfect for getting in the ground now. Veggie Ray, a new vendor, will be selling fresh produce, while other vendors sell jams, jellies and preserves, and a host of unique items perfect for the home. Non-profit AWS Freeman Fritts will be raising funds through sales of handmade pet beds, pillows and pet accessories.
At the adjacent Swap Meet, expect to find estate jewelry, fishing tackle, antiques, books, collectibles, tools, candles, toys, rusty barn stuff and sports cards. Vendors will also have clothes, furniture, cookbooks, comics and whatnot.
For hungry shoppers, Buzzie’s Bar-B-Q will be serving outside. This all-in-one giant garage sale, flea market and trade day runs eight times a year. Kerr County Swap Meet is now in its fifth year and Market Days has been running for fifteen years. Well-behaved pets (on a leash) are welcome. The Hill Country Youth Event Center is located at 3705 Hwy. 27, Kerrville, TX. For further information www.kerrmarketdays.org
