BCF’s Black & Red Ball, an evening to remember

Bandera Community Foundation’s annual Black & Red Ball on Saturday, Feb. 11, offers a chance to enjoy delicious food and dance the night away to the music of Bobby Flores and the Yellow Rose Band.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the annual Black & Red Ball, sponsored by the Bandera Community Foundation (BCF), will take place Saturday, Feb. 11, at The Farm Country Club, located off FM 2828. Proceeds will be used to assist the foundation’s work with the Bandera County Meals on Wheels program at the Silver Sage Community Center and other local charities.
This beautiful Bandera tradition offers an opportunity to dust off the cowboy bling and Stetsons, catch up with friends, enjoy a wonderful meal and dance to exceptional boot-scootin’ music.
As part of the evening, silent and live auctions will be held to aid the fundraising effort. Centerpiece of the live auction will be use of a San Antonio Spurs skybox at the AT&T Center, complete with championship basketball, food and refreshments.
Stephen Harris, serves as coordinator for the Black & Red Ball. He has served on the BCF Board of Directors for three years.
This event is not only a fundraiser, it’s also a night for sweethearts to be together in a dazzling, fun-filled environment that includes a chance to wear ‘Bandera formal’ attire, sip cold beer and Sangria Punch and dance to Grammy Award Winner Bobby Flores and the Yellow Rose Band. “We are fortunate to have Bobby Flores play for us again this year as he has been such a huge hit in the past, Harris said.”
The dinner, catered by Brick’s River Café and the 1865 Tavern and Steakhouse, will include a spring salad mix with raspberry vinaigrette, beef tenderloin, shrimp skewers w/ lemon butter sauce, a medley of vegetables and roasted potatoes with sheet cake and strawberries for dessert. Doors will open at 6 pm, dinner will be served at 7 pm and dancing will take place from 8 pm to 11 pm.
Tables of eight are available for $350 and a limited number are still available. Individual tickets are $50. Tickets can be purchased at Shoe Biz, 301 Main Street. Telephone is 830-796-8302
Proceeds from the Black & Red Ball – along with those from Celebrate Bandera – enable BCF to assist community nonprofits. Previously, BCF has offered grants to Helping Hand, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bandera County, Bandera County Library, Arthur Nagel Community Clinic, Bandera County Young Life, Bandera County Meals on Wheels and Boaz Ministries, among others.
The Black and Red Ball has become a perfect way for sweethearts to help the community while sharing a romantic evening. Don’t miss it – and purchase tickets now while they’re still available because the event has been known to sellout!
