The speakers for the Thursday, Feb. 2, meeting of the Bandera County Republic Women will be president of the Bandera American Legion Post 157 Auxiliary Gerta Weathers and one or two students that attended the Blue Bonnet Girls State Program in prior years. Mrs. Weathers will speak on the program that is sponsored by the American Legion Posts and Auxiliaries state wide. The young ladies will speak on their experience as attendees. They will bring handout material with them. The BCRW will be accepting donations toward scholarships for one or two girls at the next two meetings. The cost per attendee is $425.
The evening begins with a social hour at 5 pm with the meeting beginning promptly at 6 pm. The group meets at the 1856 Tavern meeting room, 702 State Highway 16 South, Bandera. Use the entrance closest to the motel. Anyone wishing to purchase a meal should arrive in time for it to be tabled before the beginning of the meeting. Visitors (men and women) are invited to attend to hear about this very worthy program for our young people.
