Baubles and Boots Fundraiser Slated for Saturday, January 21

The BISD Education Foundation’s annual fund raiser, Baubles and Boots, is slated for Saturday, Jan. 21, 4:30 – 7 pm at the Flying A Lodge. Funds raised from this annual event go principally toward grants to BISD teachers for innovative instruction in the classroom. Since 2005, the Foundation has raised over $300,000 to sponsor innovative opportunities for the students and teachers of Bandera ISD outside of the regular school operating budget. The BISD Education Foundation is a volunteer, non-profit corporation which solicits, manages and disburses contributions to enrich and enhance educational opportunities for staff and students in Bandera ISD that fall outside the scope of the district’s normal operating budget.
Baubles and Boots will feature hot hors d’oeuvres, beverages, live music, as well as silent and live auctions. The “bauble” for this year’s raffle will be a lapis and gemstone silver butterfly necklace provided by Dianna and Harry Harris of Bandera valued at $500. The Cowboy Store of Bandera will be providing a $500 gift certificate for western wear to be raffled off to participants. Some of the live auction items include a handmade quilt by Betty Mydland, art chair by the BMS Art students, custom knives, pearl necklace with inlaid silver cross, and a two night stay at Lake Medina Shores RV Resort.
Tickets for the event are $45 and are available from Foundation Directors or at the BISD Central Administration Office on Pecan Street. For more information, contact 830-796-3313 or email tthayer@banderaisd.net
