CTC and TTU encourage early registration for Spring college classes in Fredericksburg

Special to the Courier

Any students considering registering for college courses for the Spring session through the Hill Country University Center in Fredericksburg should do so soon, according to admissions representatives of Central Texas College and Texas Tech University.
CTC registration for “face-to-face” classes ends Jan 16. TTU will take registrations up to Jan 19. But both schools encourage students to come in earlier, even before the Christmas break, to allow for processing.
“We encourage students to register as early as possible to ensure they get the classes they want,” said Kristy Kothe, Site Coordinator for Central Texas College. “Even though the last day for walk-in registration is Jan. 16, we hope students will take advantage of the early registration and complete the process by Dec. 10.”
Anne Arnecke, Academic Counselor for Texas Tech University, had similar advice.
“Do it now,” she said, noting that it takes at least three weeks to process new students into the TTU system.
Actual registration for both schools can be done online, but visiting the offices can help answer many common questions and save time.
“Students need to come see me soon in order to know what is available at this regional site vs online,” Arnecke said. “I can also help them get set up for a degree plan.”
The Hill Country University Center is located at 2818 E. Hwy 290 in Fredericksburg. Courses are offered both onsite and online through the two universities. Information and complete course listings and schedules are available at www.hcucenter.org.
