Man shoots female partner on his property, Bandera County sheriff deputies investigate

By Steven James BCC Editor

A man shot his female partner on his property in the 700 block of English Hollow on the night of Wednesday, Nov. 23 around 11 pm, Bandera County Chief Sheriff Deputy Matthew King said.
King said when the man first called dispatch, he the claimed the situation was a drive-by shooting. However, the man changed his story after deputies arrived, saying he knew he shot his girlfriend, he was just unaware she went outside and thought she was a stalker. The man changed his story a second time later on, saying he knew his girlfriend went outside, but he still didn’t know she was the person he shot until she made a noise.
AirLIFE flew her to San Antonio Military Medical Center at 3551 Roger Brook Drive, King said. He said deputies tried questioning her about the incident, but she was heavily medicated, so they will visit her again in a few days. The case is currently under investigation.
King said the woman went through extensive surgery on her leg, but she should survive.
“She was very lucky,” King said.
He said if the woman wishes to do so, she could file a series of charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, against her partner.
