Special to the Courier

Gobble...Gobble...Gobble...Bang! Fall is in the air and that means it's Turkey Shoot time at Castle Lake Ranch VFD. This annual event will take place on Saturday, November 5 beginning at 9 am and going until 4 pm. For those who are bird lovers, there are no live turkeys at this event.
The turkey shoot consists of 15 stations with competitors shooting at targets. The best target in the round wins a turkey or gift card equivalent. We will shoot 60 rounds. 12, 16, 20, & 410 gauge shotguns only. You must use ammunition supplied by us.
If shooting is not your passion then come and bid in the silent auction. There are more than 100 items and gift certificates donated by Bandera, Pipe Creek, Boerne, and Kerrville merchants and businesses. Items include: a shoulder mount for your trophy buck, a round of golf with cart for 4, jewelry, food certificates, pet products, hair styling, massages, knives, a game feeder, corn, minerals, special feed, specialty baskets from Fiesta Spices, Camp Verde, Church's Chicken, Whataburger, and much more.
There is a raffle that includes an AR 15 sport rifle, a 55” flat screen TV, a Leopold Spotting Scope, and more. Tickets are $1 each or for a better deal, 6 for $5. You do not need to be present to win.
