I am announcing my candidacy for the office of Mayor of the City of Bandera. This is a very important election year for our nation and our city. Our ordinances and The State of Texas Local I am announcing my candidacy for the office of Mayor of the City of Bandera. This is a very important election year for our nation and our city. Our ordinances and The State of Texas Local Government Code, Chapter 22 outlines the duties and responsibilities of the Mayor and basically it is a leadership role. It is my intention to bring Bandera back on track to tackle the important issues facing our city. As I see it there are three things that are high priority.
Infrastructure is an issue that must be addressed before it’s too late. The EDC has said they are ready and willing to help with this enormous effort and they have accumulated sufficient tax dollars to be a great asset in this project. Grants are another way to fund water, sewer, and street repairs.
Equal enforcement of our ordinances is another priority issue. We have ordinances developed over the years that are designed to protect all the citizens and visitors to our city, but it seems that in recent years the enforcement of these laws is handled on a case by case basis. I intend to establish a policy of equal enforcement.
By our own ordinance, the Mayor and the City Administrator work together and report to the Council. I will work diligently to aid the administrator and keep council informed every step of every project.
I am asking for your vote and if elected I will strive to make Bandera a safe and economically sound place to live and work.Government Code, Chapter 22 outlines the duties and responsibilities of the Mayor and basically it is a leadership role.
