Debris removal in city is done

By Judith Pannebaker BCC Editor

City of Bandera Administrator Michael “Mike” Garr has noted that if debris that accumulated in the city due to recent storms and flooding hasn’t been “officially” removed by Thursday, Sept. 1, it probably won’t be.
“The last brush removal by Republic Services took place on Tuesday and Wednesday,” he said in an interview earlier this week. “The city has simply run out of time and money for additional removal.” For the most part, Garr indicated that brush removal had been completed within the city, but not necessarily in the extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ).
He advised residents still faced with accumulated brush to contact a private company for removal.
“The next scheduled brush and bulk trash removal will take place in the fall,” Garr said. He also reminded residents that bulk trash removal is limited to three cubic yards. “Republic simply will not pick up huge piles of trash,” he said.
