Free assistance with Medicare choices

By Judith Pannebaker BCC Editor

For Bandera County residents who need assistance with their Medicare choices, help is on the way.
From 10 am to noon, the second Tuesday of every month, a representative with Medicare Solutions, Inc. will be at Helping Hand, 1116 12th Street, to assist seniors who are eligible for Medicare. There is no cost for this service.
An independent service and enrollment organization, Medicare Solutions, Inc. is not affiliated with Medicare or any other government agency. The company specializes in helping Medicare beneficiaries receive all of the services, subsidized programs and benefits for which they are eligible.
All services and benefits are provided to individuals at no out-of-pocket cost to them beyond the Part B premium they, Medicaid or a third party is currently paying.
“We truly embrace the opportunity we have been given to serve this segment of our society that includes the elderly, disabled and lower income,” said a company spokesman.
During the consultations, Medicare beneficiaries will learn how to save money each month, how to reduce their medication costs to under $8 per month and how to receive assistance with dental costs, among other benefits.
“This is a wonderful service that Helping Hand is able to provide to our senior citizens each month,” said Executive Director Jesse Parks. “Medicare options are so confusing that it’s nice to have a someone to guide you to the ones that are best tailored to your needs. I learn something new every month.”
