Disaster assistance just call away

Contributed

Recent rains and flooding have created a major disaster for many Bandera County residents without resources or insurance.
Team Rubicon, a national disaster response team, comprised of veterans, retired police and firemen and EMS volunteers, are available to assist local residents, in conjunction with the Bandera Community Foundation.
Team Rubicon is ready to assist elderly residents on fixed incomes, low-income families or those without insurance who have lost homes. Members of Team Rubicon remove debris, ruined furniture and sheet rock or whatever else is necessary to clear the home for repair. This cleanup service is totally free.
Members of Team Rubicon take time away from their families and jobs to assist communities in the aftermath of natural disasters. The organization is made up of over 35,000 volunteers from across the nation, including local members.
The Bandera Community Foundation is also dedicated to helping locals cope with disasters. They have assisted Team Rubicon by providing meals for the organization’s volunteers. Volunteer Vicki Browning of Texas Rose Realty Meals has coordinated meals for Team Rubicon.
