First call for Bandera Idol


The 19th annual Bandera Riverfest is scheduled for Saturday, June 25, on the banks of the Medina River at Bandera City Park. Featured again this year will be the Bandera Idol Competition – a favorite tradition and competition for youth and adults.
This year, preliminary competitions will take place Saturday and Sunday during Memorial Day weekend. Competition begins at 12:30 pm, Saturday May 28, and Sunday, May 29, behind the courthouse. The final preliminary competition will be held Friday, June 12, at TJ’s at the Old Forge, 807 Main Street.
Applications are available online at www.banderariverfest.com or contestants can just show up with music, CDs or accompanists. Karaoke tracks will also be provided.
Semifinal rounds will take place at 10 am, June 25, on the RiverFest music stage at City Park. For those who advanced past the semifinals, the final round begins at 5 pm.
Bandera RiverFest gates are open from 10 am to 6 pm. Admission is $10 for adults, $5, seniors; and free for kids ages 12 years and under, as well as for active military with identification.
