Kathleen McKenzie Owen, broker and owner of McKenzie-Owen Commercial Real Estate, based in Pipe Creek, was recently presented with the National Association of REALTORS’ (NAR) Platinum Award for Global Achievement.
She served as 2015 chairman of the International Committee of Texas Association of REALTORS (TAR). Owen received her award from President and CEO Travis Kessler at a recent meeting in San Antonio.
This prestigious award recognizes that association members have developed, fostered and implemented awareness of international business opportunities locally through real estate professionals and the general public.
During her tenure as chairman of the international committee of TAR, Owen organized a bus tour of Hill Country’s businesses that had been designed specifically for international realtors. The tour included business park developments in Boerne, winery and viniculture in Comfort, agri-business in Medina, tourism in Bandera and golf and hotel management at Tapatio Springs Country Club.
Additionally, the committee, led by Owen, produced radio and television spots that were distributed across the Lone Star State.
Accepting the award, Owen said, “This would have been impossible without Deb Hernandez, John Gormley, TAR staff and leadership and my close friends, Holly Hightower and Richard Miranda, as well as all the committee members for their support. Thank you all.”
A veteran broker, Owen specializes in commercial real estate investments throughout the Hill Country. She is also a past president of the Bandera County Board of Realtors.
The striking award will be displayed at the TAR headquarters in Austin.
