Honoring ‘Child Abuse Awareness’ Month

April has been designated as “Child Abuse Awareness” Month.
At 4 pm, Friday, April 1, Bandera County employees and interested citizens will gather on the front steps of the Bandera County Courthouse to raise awareness for this worthy cause. The community is urged to participate.
Precinct 4 Commissioner Jordan “Jody” Rutherford will read an official proclamation, which will be followed by a walk up Main Street and back with a banner and distinctive pinwheels. After the march concludes, the banner and pinwheels will be placed on the front lawn of the courthouse.
Last year’s turnout for the event was exemplar and organizer, Billie J. Reeves, who also serves as county treasurer, hope to double the participation this year.
