Shop book sale; join Friends

By Mary Conley Secretary, FOL

March has arrived and with it a new Friends of the Library book sale. This month we feature a vast array of cookbooks, from junior leagues, churches, civic organizations and food manufacturers, most priced at only 25 cents. Also featured are books on color, in garden design, decorating, understanding, analyzing and transforming your life. Dog care and training books are another focus for the March 5 sale.
March is special in other ways. This month the Friends launch their annual membership drive. Money from this drive, as well as book sales, is granted to the Bandera library for books, magazines, periodicals and other special needs that county funding does not provide. Look for a membership application in your mailbox, or pick up an application at the library. Student membership is as little as $5.
But that’s not all! Saturday, March 19, is the Library’s annual Wild Hog Explosion. This event is packed with all kinds of porcine activities, good music, delicious food, and a motorcycle run. You can even wager on where a pig will poop. Can it get any better than that?
So, please support your library. It’s easy; buy a book, become a member, catch a hog. We look forward to seeing you at one of these events.
And whatever your involvement, thank you for reading.
