BISD elementary schools register 2016-2017 preKinder students


Alkek Elementary and Hill Country Elementary will begin their first round of registration for PreK, Headstart and Kinder students on March 9 and 10 during Texas Public Schools Week. Registration hours will be 8:30 – 11:30 am and 12:30 – 3 pm. In order to register for Pre-K or Head Start class, the child must be four years of age by Sept. 1, 2016. In order to register for Kindergarten classes, the child must be five years of age by Sept. 1, 2016. Students already enrolled in BISD PreK or Head Start classes do not have to re-register for Kindergarten at their elementary.
PreK and Headstart are both income based programs so parents are asked to bring proof of income for the past 12 months (W-2, check stubs, SSI or current year income tax form). Also needed are proof of health insurance (CHIPS, private insurance or Medicaid), documentation of any federal assistance benefits, the birth certificate of child, the Social Security Card of child, an up to date immunization record, and a picture ID of the person registering the student.
