180th anniversary of Battle of the Alamo


Remember the Alamo with 13 days of interactive living history programming and special events to commemorate the 180th anniversary of the siege and battle of the Alamo. Check out the Alamo's website at www.thealamo.org for daily schedules of events.
The commemoration will include daily events at 10 am and 2 pm. Reenactors will read a daily overview of events including letters and historic speeches from those who were there in 1836. These readings will take place in front of the Alamo Church. Additionally, Living History demonstrations will take place on the grounds from 10 am until 4 pm.
Additional special events include:
• Feb. 24 - Ride for Texas Independence, starts at 10 am
• Feb. 27 - "The Alamo" Movie Night, starts at 6:30 pm
• March 4 - An Evening with Heroes, starts at 6:30 pm and tickets are required
• March 5 – Third annual Crockett Fiddler’s Fest, performances start at 10 am
• March 6 - Dusk at the Alamo, starts at 6 pm
