BISD

The "bauble" being raffled off at this year's Baubles and Boots Celebration, the annual fundraiser for the Bandera ISD Education Foundation, is an opal and pearl necklace provided by Melissa Benge of Gunslinger in Bandera.

The Bandera Independent School District Education Foundation's fundraiser, Baubles and Boots, will take place from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, Saturday, Jan. 23, at The Lodge at San Julian. Proceeds from this annual event fund grants to Bandera ISD teachers for innovative instruction in the classroom. Since 2005, the foundation has raised over $260,000 to support Bandera ISD students and teachers.
Baubles and Boots features hot hors d'oeuvres, beverages and live music, as well as silent and live auctions. The "bauble" for this year's raffle will be an opal and pearl necklace - valued at over $500 - provided by Gunslinger in Bandera.
Additionally, the Cowboy Store of Bandera, along with the Bandera ISD Education Foundation, has provided a gift certificate for western wear as a raffle prize. Live auction items include two nights at the Hotel Emma in San Antonio, art chairs by the Bandera Middle School art students and an original painting by Norma Jean Anderwald.
Tickets for the event are $35 and are available from Foundation Directors or at the Bandera ISD Central Administration Office on Pecan Street.
